- September 1st, 2010 Sushi bingeing. The final frontier. The unquestionably orgasmic delight of popping dollop after dollop of a food of an unrelentingly elegant design; low in fat, high in umami, arguably, an invention born of perfection. Some say the combination of raw fish and rice is an acquired taste, but for the converted, sushi is nothing but [...] Read "The Newsletter No.5: Catch The London Sushi Train." more

- August 26th, 2010 A firm, yet genteel voice answered the phone. The line was horribly muffled as I struggled to pick out the vowels through the low, low bass. Fum.Fum.Sa.Sa. I think she said, in a deceptively Japanese accent. An awkward silence befell. “Aka …ka…” I said. “ZZZassss… ka” she said, with a quickened pace. I gave up. - August 24th, 2010 I didn’t realise cameras in restaurants were still such taboo. This week I had two journalists ask me what I thought about the act of pulling out a camera in a restaurant, which some say is equal in every sense to dropping your trousers in the middle of the dining room and shouting: “Look at [...] Read "Photos, restaurants, and dropping trousers." more

- August 23rd, 2010 Yes I cannot believe it too. It is two years ago today, that I assaulted the internet with my barrage of hot air and vulgar food photography, which may as well be classified as taboo, and I would just like to start by saying Thank You for reading and putting up with me. - August 23rd, 2010 Adam Byatt, the thinking man’s version of a celebrity chef, and owner of the much lauded Trinity restaurant, situated in leafy Clapham. - August 18th, 2010 Twenty quid doesn’t go too far in London, maybe two courses. Three if it’s a michelin-on-a-budget. How is your wednesday going so far? You know, I rarely do these personal ‘bloggie’ type posts to break from the usual eating but yesterday I was tagged by Howard & co who run the excellent sydney food blog eat show and tell , and so thought it would be the perfect excuse to jump in. (wee..) What is this tagging business you wonder (oh you wonder)…
The golden rules of tagging: blue is me
- Link to the person who tagged you Howard at eatshowandtell.com
- Post the rules on the blog posted
- Write six random things about yourself ok on to that now
- Tag six people at the end of your post just six?
- Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog
- Let the tagger know when your entry is published sure
Six random things about kang
- I used to be a pc, now I’m a mac.
- I love pets and used to have two dogs called doe and bird, after their breed the ‘doberman’ and I also had three terrapins. One somehow managed to climb out from his turtle tank and fell from roughly a height of about six feet (from his humble & comfy aquarium to the cement floor) and effectively ran away from home. Think prison break… but replace Michael Scofield with a turtle the size of a 50p coin. The other two layed eggs.
- My favourite basketball player is Dwyane Wade and grew up wanting to fly like Mike. Never did manage it so I started a foodblog instead.
- Moleskine is my notebook of choice and I have currently have three: one for my blog , one as my diary and the other for my dayjob…. did i mention Im a mad for moleskines?
- My surname ’Leong’ roughly translates to gentle, while my first name ‘Kang’ when combined with ‘Kent’ (ie: Kent-Kang) means health(y) . Incidentally I have a brother who goes by the name of Kent. Thanks mum.
- I have a black belt in karate.
Tag! You’re it.
I came across some new foodblogs while surfing foodbuzz and have decided that it’s only appropriate for me to tag them:
-
newcastlecentric the latest and greatest in tyneside nightlife up north.
-
adventures of kitchen girl is run by bubbly Jo who lives, loves and cooks, latest is a tipsy eggnog, yum!
- dirty south twitis a twitter meetup (tweetup) in south london. I’m tagging because I want to bring west london heat.
- no recipescooks with no recipes. supercool , go read it.
- food by mark is quite literally food by mark.. oh! cumulus tag cloud too
- londonelicious finally, Krista has been eating her way through london alot longer than me.
Extra, extra

hehe… I like these tags that go round now and then… fun to learn new bits about each other
Thanks for the tag!
It’s fun to read personal meme. I too, had a couple of terrapins, who also broke away. Once got chewed by Mushu – my golden retriever, and the other one got ran over by a car – most probably me who were driving.
Tag answered and posted
I love animals too! Dogs and Cats
I have two cats one girl named Blossom and a boy named Kenta. I use have a dog but sadly she passed away earlier this year.
Kang what kind of guest blogger are you looking for? cooking? or reviewer?
Long live moleskins!
+Jessie
a.k.a. The Hungry Mouse
Jo – hehe, you love black really? and i love greys too lol … im getting sick of happy derek + meredith but I am still madly in love with Lizzie. Oh Lizzie won’t you eat with a london eater?
Jun , oh dear poor thing.. mushu is such a cool name and i always wanted to have a golden retriever. I’m waiting to buy a big house and then it’ll be me and goldilocks for weekend runs at hyde park.
Jesssie thesimplyscrumptiousfoodie, Kenta is a really cool name and the only criteria for guest blogger is that you love food
cooking, review, food story and all are welcomed . are you interested?
Jessie thehungrymouse, mua haha! moleskines forever!
Wow black belt
Great…
I have 3 terrapines too! Hey are you sure that the escape one is not at home? Because they can hide really well.
By the way… what’s the “guest blogging” issue dear?
Oh my! What terrific accident stories about terrapines :’(
Those whom have/or had terrapines!
Pls love your terrapines and take care of them.
They are kind of restless climbers, so please keep them in high-walled aquariums with enough material inside for them to stay on top, and get dry.
Love ‘em Love ‘em Love ‘em with care
I LOVE moleskines too! As I wrote in my tagged post, I love paper… This love also extends to notebooks too.
There’s just too many varieties of notebooks that I don’t know which one to choose…. what’s your favourite style?
I love Moleskines too. For my next trip to Japan in Feb I’m going to start my own little ‘Moleskine Lonely Planet’ and hand it onto the next person who goes to Japan so they can fill the rest in!
Oh and Dwayne Wade, he is a class player. He can fill the entire stat sheet which is impressive for a PG/SG. He reminds me a bit of Jason Kidd in terms of the ability to do a bit of everything. Which reminds me, I still can’t believe Kidd is racking up triple doubles at 34 yrs old!
Wow! I loved learning more about you! I am mighty impressed by the black belt!!!
I would love for you to do a guest post if you are interested! Just let me know!
This just reminded me that I’ve a tag and a meme to do! Heheh…and Wow. A black belt in karate… *_*
Banu – guest blogging, ie, you post one of your super sweet posts on london eater … are you interested??
Teresa , Howard .. hehe, moleskine fans! try this site http://moleskinerie.com . I’m on the fence, I like the large format moleskine it allows me to nicely spread my ideas on the pages .. but then I’ve got this two pack one which features a two-tone blue. Its still in the shrink wrap and i’m thinking of an excuse to use it!
Howard – kidd is like everygreen. He’s just got great basketball brain and he can read the game. I’m fast becoming a CP3 fan though
Megan, lol .. the black belt has since been replaced by an expanding waistlist due to my food cravings! and yes I would be mightily interesting in guest blogging at your munchies
Foong, lol .. like i said, expanding waistline!!
