- September 1st, 2010 Sushi bingeing. The final frontier. The unquestionably orgasmic delight of popping dollop after dollop of a food of an unrelentingly elegant design; low in fat, high in umami, arguably, an invention born of perfection. Some say the combination of raw fish and rice is an acquired taste, but for the converted, sushi is nothing but [...] Read "The Newsletter No.5: Catch The London Sushi Train." more

- August 26th, 2010 A firm, yet genteel voice answered the phone. The line was horribly muffled as I struggled to pick out the vowels through the low, low bass. Fum.Fum.Sa.Sa. I think she said, in a deceptively Japanese accent. An awkward silence befell. “Aka …ka…” I said. “ZZZassss… ka” she said, with a quickened pace. I gave up. - August 24th, 2010 I didn’t realise cameras in restaurants were still such taboo. This week I had two journalists ask me what I thought about the act of pulling out a camera in a restaurant, which some say is equal in every sense to dropping your trousers in the middle of the dining room and shouting: “Look at [...] Read "Photos, restaurants, and dropping trousers." more

- August 23rd, 2010 Yes I cannot believe it too. - August 18th, 2010 Twenty quid doesn’t go too far in London, maybe two courses. Three if it’s a michelin-on-a-budget. The amazing people over at Rough guides recently launched a new ’rough guide to food’ and they’ve been kind enough to offer LondonEater readers (yay, you) five free copies of the book. The Rough guide to Food aims to help average Joey Bloggs navigate their way through the wonderful world of food. There’s a wealth of useful information in there, and they have quite succintly pulled together extensive chapters on food into one pocketable read. Examples: It gives you information about which fishes being edible (or not), tells you about farming methods, a whole section on supermarkets, explains what a ‘deli’ actually is and there’s even mention of social media sites such as tipped being a good way to find local food shops/services. The final chapter gives you some starters advice on growing your own stuff (with a little chart on fruit/veg seasons) , all in all a pretty comprehensive little know-it-all book about what you and I love most (apart from the cat).
To win one, simply complete the following sentence by leaving a comment:

PS: Rough Guide are also running a proper competition over at their website which will give you the chance to win a year’s supply of food boxes! Go check it out.
PS,PS: Bit of self promotion, would love for you to subscribe to my feed by rss or email, so you’ll be the first to know when free stuff like this comes up again in the near future.
PPPS: Ofcourse, I will ship to anywhere in the world and be creative with your comment. Cheers folks.
