Lunch with FT on a shoestring budget

I feel it is my london foodie duty to report on any special offers which apply to food lovers in London. This the latest one from the Financial Times will give you the opportunity to have your bill halved. Details from the official website below:

Have lunch (or dinner where offered*) with the FT and enjoy fine dining for less. When you take up this offer, your total food bill for two will be halved and you’ll be charged just £5 for your friend’s food. This exclusive promotion runs from Saturday 10 January to Friday 13 February 2009: simply book and eat during this time. To qualify, just collect three vouchers from the FT newspaper and reserve a table at any of the restaurants listed here, quoting Lunch with the FT. You’ll find one voucher in every weekday FT and two in FT Weekend throughout the promotional period. (Terms and conditions apply, click here for details)

To qualify, it involves buying copies of the FT and collecting 3 vouchers and then to reserve a table at any one of the participating restaurants. There are some nice names on that list, and the ones that caught my eye were:  Incanto, L’Anima, L’Autre, Cafe Anglais, Quo Vadis, Sake no Hana, Tom Ilic and Zilli Fish (I’m a sucker for their lobster spaghetti). Not so bothered about the £5 surcharge for the guest diner, but half price at Quo Vadis – I’m sold.

I read through the T&Cs and it says that they will print one token per weekday copy and two token on the weekends, though I’m assuming that it means that if I use my tokens from monday to wednesday, that qualifies me for the promotion, but the actual wording is abit wishy washy, here is point number 4:

4. To participate in the Promotion, Readers must collect three tokens from the FT newspaper per pair dining (Two Tokens will be printed in every FT Weekend edition and one Token will be printed in every weekday edition throughout the Promotion Period) and pre-book at a participating restaurant quoting “Lunch with the FT”. Bookings are on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability. Tokens will be collected by the restaurants.(Two Tokens will be printed in every FT Weekend edition and one Token will be printed in every weekday edition throughout the Promotion Period)

This clause seems to suggest that one would need to get a copy of weekend FT (for the two tokens) and another weekday one ( for the one token) to qualify. Ambiguous fine print.

Can anyone confirm on this? Link to official site here, I’m definitely going to take up this offer to Le cafe anglais.
