Let’s put things right in the german cuisine . Most of all dishes they serve at L&W are austrian dishes . As the boiled beef dish , called “Tafelspitz” (and the sauce was not a cauliflower sauce , it was a horseradish sauce). I recommend everybody who loves to eat decent , honest food at a good price NOT to eat at tourist hot spots . Why I know ? Because I lived for 20 years in Berlin .

This looks amazing, I am hoping to go to the German Christmas markets this year and really looking forward to trying the German cuisine. It seems like my first stop would be London though!

Great opening photo Kang. Having done some travelling through Germany and tasted a range of haute cuisine and more traditional hearty fare; it’s the latter that I remember. A dish of bright pink mince topped with a runny egg and beetroot aside, I learnt to enjoy the meat and carb fest and forge a lifelong love of spaetzle. Hope you enjoy the downtime.

Looks like lovely hearty winter food. I think German cuisine gets a bad rap but I have had some excellent meals in Germany.
