[...] I love this place. Food is beautifully cooked, wonderful balance of flavours, and the restaurant is entirely personable. The best onglet and frites. I also think Bjorn van de Horst has nurtured a culture amongst staff, who project an air of modesty, something which I think is sorely lacking in most high nose places where amorous pretension are all but rampant.
I do need to revisit the bistro. By all accounts the thanksgiving meal was fantastic, and if I can judge by that, which I will, this is one of my favourite restaurants in London. We almost ate at the restaurant part before Christmas but this was just pipped by Pied a Terre. My recent humble, unconsidered account of thanksgiving at ESI Bistro - http://www.foodbymark.com/2010/01/20/eastside-inn-a-thanksgiving-experience/
