[...] In my opinion, No.10 is a hidden gem of sorts. Situated in Earls Court, its expansive menu caters to a wide variety of differing regional cuisines, but the kitchen’s speciality is in Szechuan food. While there is a wealth of Szechuan restaurants, currently a trend in central London, I find that most are merely ok. Here, small groups can enjoy a positively exciting feast of ‘mala’ or spicy hotpot and in my opinion, a juicy rendition of soya chicken, tender. I also enjoyed the braised pork ribs with rice, served in a ceramic pot on a bed of rice, with ‘winter’ mushrooms (shitake). At £6.50 a steal. Read more. [...]

I'm glad you mentioned this restaurant at the end of your "Offally Spicy" post! I had an awful experience at Bar Shu (bad service, overpriced food), and I can't wait to try this place. The Ma La hotpot sounds deliciously evil. Thank you!

Been aiming to go here and based on your rec, it'll be sooner rather than later. I can't believe you took the poor Scottish lass to task for flaunting it - let's face it we're all guilty of it at one time or another !!

Awesome photos as usual, Kang; and thanks for this - we were craving Chinese just the other night, but so far haven't managed to find a good local spot - so will definitely give this one a try. Oh, and welcome back to the neighborhood!

P.S. are you sure this is Hogarth Place and not Hogarth Road?

Looks great. Ma La means hot & numbing, the sensations of the sichuan peppercorn. Gourmet San is also a very good Sichuan place, though the portions are MASSIVE.
