Helen - I think you should ask for it the way you like it cooked :)

An American in London - Yeah, I failed to point out the fact that Goodman is not cheap, very good spinach but so so pricy.

Augustine - Got it, will get down to palm when I can. I want to try Maze Grill as well, one other place that does prime USDA.

Monkey Gland - thanks for visiting, I follow your blog so am a fan, yesh Hawksmoor is still a good place to grab steak.

Gourmet Chick - Yeah, from now on, I will send back overcooked steaks, it seems like that is generally accepted.

Send it back I say. That is why you are paying the money to eat at a top steak house - so they get it right.

It seems Goodman was the blogging restaurant of choice this weekend. I swung the other way with Goodman, still prefer Hawksmoor.

I used to think Goodman was the best steakhouse in town... and then I went to The Palm in Kensington. That seriously blows Goodman out of the water! It's more pricey but the steak (USDA Prime as well) is pure perfection... if you go, also get the "half and half" (onion rings and crisps)... you won't regret it! :)

I was just there on Friday and was planning to blog about it this week. Ad while I was there, I bumped into Krista (Londonelicious). It seems everyone's showing up at Goodman. In any case, I had the same experience where my medium-rare was more medium than rare. Very sad. I did love the creamed spinach, but spending 85 pounds per person for a great creamed spinach is silly.

Lizzie - I meant to say that for something that was overcooked, it still tasted pretty good, and even though it was overcooked it was still juicy inside. But taste-wise, it didn't have much flavour, hence the salting. Judging a purely overcooked piece of meat it was good. But on the basis that I didn't ask for it to be cooked that way, then it was bad. Does that clear it up abit?
