The Food rating is a bit of a shock and I'm sure they will completely revamp.

However, the attack on them personally is unacceptable, this poster has been trolling all over the net and obviously holds a grudge against them for some reason?

Sacked cleaner perhaps?

Are you people aware that this so-called 'restaurant' is run by a pimp and his mistress and that the place is filthy with rats running all over the place? Do you know how many people have succumbed to food poisoning there? The food is terrible and the attitude of this arrogant couple even worse. Avoid this place like the plague - do not even eat there for free!!!

The Food Standards Agency's rating:

Date of inspection: 17 November 2011

Food hygiene rating is '0': Urgent improvement necessary

ZERO!!!!!! Are you people mad?????

Went to Uncle Lim’s for the chicken that is recommended on many blogs etc but it was only available on certain days so will have to go back – and definitely will going by the quality of the dish I had. I chose the Mee Goreng which was under £6 and couldn’t finish it the portions were so big. Never had yellow noodles before but they were firm and tasty. I love squid and often in European dishes it’s tough but here it was tender and the sauce of chilli and coriander was just hot enough (also the tofu was delicious). Washed it down with a cup of Malaysian tea, sweet and gently spicy. The lady actually poured it through the air several times so asked her why and she said it gets the air in to the tea which gives it the smooth texture, unlike any tea I’ve ever had! So thanks for all the comments and blogs for recommending this place, makes going to Croydon worth while.

I am a big foodie, the Chicken rice looks absolutely delicious. I was in Croydon just the other day, I will probably need to make a reservation for this place. Dont want to end up there and find out there isnt a place to sit. It's quite a bit from my place in London. I generally use Book a table but it seems this place isnt listed on that website.

[...] I’ve had alot of great Hainanese chicken rice in both Malaysia and Singapore. Being a quarter Hainanese myself, I know for a fact that ‘Bai Zhan’ Chicken – Poached White Chop Chicken – is something of a family tradition, so I am telling you now that the best Hainanese Chicken Rice I have had in London is not in London. It is in Croydon. If you have always been curious or are craving for a great example of this famous one plate meal, you must give Uncle Lim’s a try. They also do very good Malay style spicy chicken wings, sambal prawns as well as Nasi lemak. The chicken rice is a weekend only special and how I wish they would bring this family secret to London. Any restauranteurs reading this? More here. [...]

I love chicken rice!

Rick Stein extoles the virtues of Hainanese chicken rice in his taste of Asia TV series and supporting book. I usually make it at home whenever I get a craving but will definately check Uncle Lim's out.

By the way I love the blog

NxBite - Hmm, good point, there wasn't any sauce that came with it, also I noted there wasn't any soup , but still the off th bone chicken was so silky..... yummy :) I went back again last week and was very impressed by the quality. I like that its not some world beating gourmet food, but simply just very well cooked chicken rice, modest, cheap and tasty :)
