Haha! You’re so funny! I even say when my meals have been paid for by someone else, eg my father in law (which he loves to do). But I did catch myself declaring on Twitter the other day that I’d paid for my Paul apricot pastry…anyway, these macarons look amazing!

Heh, you’ve got to be able to laugh at yourself and I like your funny references to the recent freebiesgate! Glad you’re not taking it too seriously, not letting it get you down!

I adore macarons but I don’t know that I’ll head down to sowf london for them!

I had a nice one at a Paul’s patisserie recently – not best in world but reasonably good nonetheless.

Might have to make them again soon given the pic in my blog header!

Great post, I like the tone! The mis-matched china and the macarons are very pretty. Gorgeous colours. I love French style cafes where you can just pretend for a while, the one down the road thinks I'm bonkers sitting there humming the Amélie soundtrack! I OD’ed on macarons after eating 9 in a row, and one of them was foie gras and port flavoured. Eurgh. Maybe I need to try again.

I was about to log off and thought I’d read your post first, glad I did – the opening gave me a chuckle love that you’re taking the piss, cos you know what, life’s too short to be bummed out about things that actually, they don’t matter!

I’m also a HUGE fan of macaroons. Agree with Laissez Fare, I get mine from Laduree, but sometimes when I want one that’s on steroids, I just drop by Paul. Hey, have you had Paul’s pistachio macaroon frappe??? Oh my gawddddddddd…..

Hi, sounds like a nice little place. For my money, the best macaroons are Laduree's, especially when you go to the original on rue Royale in Paris. But the little shop on Piccadilly does the trick too! You do pay dearly for the little bundles of joy, though...
