Funny you mention La Trompette – it is on my must must must eat list at the moment, I hear alot of peopel raving about it, I am sure it is worth the trek to Chiswick for that.

Thanks so much for your recommendations, I do love steak and La Vacherin sounds great, great name too naming after one of favourite cheeses!

Great site.

Interesting review of Sam’s. I have eaten there a few times and have always loved the fish courses and they have never disappointed. Sam once worked for Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, which may be why the fish is a good bet.

I hope you have not been put off coming to Chiswick again. If you do come back try Le Vacherin for great steaks, The Swan for great gastropub food, or for a tasty three course Sunday lunch try La Trompette, which deservedly has a Michelin star.

I ate at Sam’s a while ago. Food was ok’ish, but did not warrant the price tag .. But then again that is Chiswick for you … Dull and over priced ….

Lizzie – The steak was really horribly overcooked and both of us weren’t impressed at all, and for that reason, I will not move to Chiswick.

Sounds like a nice neighbourhood restaurants, even if it’s no great shakes. I can’t forgive a restaurant for over-cooking my steak though.

(Chiswick is sans the hefty price tag?! I’m not sure about that…)
