hello, we have been to Viet Grill a couple of times and were going to give Cay Tre a go in a couple of weeks but your post makes Song Que sound pretty damn tasty. What do you think? Have you been to Cay Tre? Which would you pick?

Song Que is consistently good, my Shorditch friends always highly recommend it. And approval by many Viet friends who know what they are eating too.

Don't forget to try Cafe East in Canada Water/Surry Quay. It is another good one with many Vietiamese supporters!

They have recently moved to a bigger venue, not sure if they are still as good value as they used to be. You be the judge.

Gourmet Chick - Tay Do and Viet Grill you say? I will try them both the next time I'm there.

Lizzie - Because I like to be economic with the English language.

Yvonne - Yeah there were! Between centrepoint and the holiday inn hotel. Not sure if it still exists though... perhaps not??

Helen - I did have a great time, yeah the uncertainty is down to me not being able to compare it to the other Viet restaurants in London... but I will try them Viet Grill soon enough :)

Adel - lol, perhaps I should get mum to contribute a recipe guest post on the blog. She still doesnt appreciate the name dropping though :D

A girl has to eat - Indeed. Mum's cooking is the best!

Nik - That's two votes for Tay Do from both you and Gourmet Chick, right need to try out that place soon.

Song Que does do a great Pho.. and the pork in rice paper roll was phenomenal when I ate there. I think the best salt & pepper squid is either Cay Tre or Tay Do. They do fantastic Beef/Betel at Viet Hoa.

Well, nothing ever beats Mum's cooking! Although where I do differ from you is that I personally prefer soup noodles myself to the dry noodles. I went to this place ages ago and thought it was pretty good.

Sounds like you had a great time, though you don't seem so sure! Song Que and Viet Grill have been sitting at the top of my wishlist forever, as I find it hard to trek over to that side of town as well.
