Where I’m at now and the future

Thanks to everyone who’s been visiting this site, I know it’s still alot of WIP, but I’m slowly and steadily adding more content now. The aim is to try and post something every other day in a different category. So my plan looks alittle like this so far:

  • Day 1 – Restaurant Review
  • Day 3 – Review a bottle of wine –
  • Day 5 – a ‘just food’ post
  • Day 7 – a post about a food shop/wine shop
  • Any additional post – perhaps a quick recipe for the hectic working person?

Its not all set in stone yet, but in my mind that’s kind of how I see things going forward.

Where is the wine?

yeah I know, I know, there’s no stuff on wine yet – I am working on it, good news is that I’ve stocked up with some pretty interesting bottles and am preparing a few posts on some of the more interesting places to buy wine around london, so fear not, the work is being carried out in the background!

Basically, I’m aiming for the weekend to release a few posts to launch the wine section. So do keep coming back for that.

Big things will happen on Sept 30th.

I was recently contacted by a company to discuss the possibility of me helping out on a new and exciting travel website that will open its doors to the public at the end of the month. Discussions were cool and I really like the ideas they’ve got.

So, if all things go well, you’ll see me writing about food somewhere abit higher profile too! More info to follow as things inch closer and closer to that day.

Give me a little and I give you more

I hope you guys enjoy reading the posts. You know, this blog is really meant to be a hair-down, relaxed and personal way to discuss food, wine, restaurants in London. Food is abit like an adventure you know, there are so many stories behind them, especially the people who run the places. I mean, just a simple ‘how did this place get started?’ usually makes for rather interesting conversation in itself. And if you’re a bit like me, you’ll enjoy the good stories.

Imaphotographer

I’m trying my best to show food in the best light I can. All the photos are taken with my brand spanking new Nikon D40, with a sigma 18-125mm zoomer. My favourite is the photo of the cheesecake (on the banner). It was taken in a cafe in Chelsea.

I’m not that great a photographer. I’m horrible at composing shots..just the number of times I’ve managed to piss my friend off while I’m taking pictures of her, I mean, I could make a nice tree in the background seem like its growing out from the top of her head! Needless to say, I’ve not pointed a camera at her for a while now.

Although I must say that I am learning, starting to figure out the golden triangle to tack sharp pictures: aperture/exposure/shutter speed.

Lets not forget the godsend that is adobe photoshop and the excellent ‘The Digital Photography Book’,both vol 1 and 2 by Scott Kelby. He writes in a really clear way, 1 tip or shot per page. Really cool book for any budding beginners (such as me).

Yeah, so please do critique my shots and let me know of ways to improve them, so then it can help me make things better for you.

Ok that’s it for now, back to more food posting.
